In order to guarantee the success of the 2^nd Euromed Postal Convention and to achieve its desirable goal in highlighting the importance of the postal sector as a driving force of economic development, business growth and how it could play an active and efficient role in the New Economic and Financial Environment, and under the recent circumstances and the emergence of different forms of major international problems in this period from the financial crisis and its negative impact on the worldwide economy to the swine influenza virus (SIV) that recently attacked some countries and the fear of the official procedures expected to be taken by the governments in the next few weeks to prevent the threat of it becoming a global epidemic, Egypt Post after the consultation with the members of Euromed Steering Committee decided to postpone the 2^nd Euromed Postal Convention in Alexandria whether it will be held before the end of 2009 or the 1^st quarter of 2010.

Egypt Post believes that postponing the 2^nd Euromed Postal Convention will give the opportunity to all of us to skip and pass over this hard period and it hopes to have all the players and guarantee their active participation in the convention as it is considered the most important tool for the success of the 2^nd Euromed Postal Convention.
