A pact to run the electronic remittances services between the Egyptian and Jordanian post

Eng.Alaa Fahmy Egypt Post Chairman signed the agreement along with his Jordanian counterpart Saeed Shakm.

Such agreement considers an annex to the one signed by 7 Arab countries to exchange the financial remittances through the Congress postal conference which was held last July in Geneva . the 7 countries are: Egypt, UAE, Syria, Yemen, Morocco, Tunisia, and Qatar.

The agreement between Egypt and Jordan post will come into force effective next January 2009, knowing that such service will be run in accordance with the state of art electronic transmission (IFS). More than 300, 000 Egyptian citizens, who are working in Jordan will be able to transmit their money through the post offices spread in both countries under competitive prices, lesser than their equivalents in the market.
