Egypt Post Remittances Volume Reaches 2.5 Billions

In the first year of its application, the volume of direct remittances BILLIONSreached 10 billion L.E, through 3600 offices of the Egypt Post unified network.

 

The Chairman of Egypt Post Eng/ Alaa Fahmy said that the remittance service was first applied in the fiscal year 2007-2008, pointing out that its volume started at 20 to 30 million L.E, and increased rapidly to reach 1 billion LE through the last quarter of the same year.

 

He also said that Egypt recently signed an agreement with several Arab countries at 24th UPU Congress, in Geneva aiming to provide secure financial services to the laborers who are living abroad through official channels to reach to the most remote rural areas through Egypt Post offices.
